Educational and Social Projects at the Sinfonietta
For over 50 years, the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva has proudly led the music scene throughout the Negev, continuing to innovate, perform, and thrill both local and international audiences.
As the only orchestra in the Negev, we consider ourselves committed to educational accessibility and the promotion of cultural and social values among the younger generation.
Our educational department operates with the goal of instilling and developing a love of music among wide audiences through educational activities, concerts, workshops, and introduction to the spiritual and cultural richness of classical music.

The Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva brings a unique, different, and groundbreaking voice as the only classical orchestra in the South. We view musical education as a central objective of our activities, believing that exposure to classical music is key to enriching the world of children and youth and developing free and creative thinking, imagination, concentration, and perseverance.
True to this vision, for several decades we have been conducting rich and diverse activities in the field of music education in many cities across the country, from early childhood to academy students.
A significant portion of this activity is dedicated to educational and social initiatives for the children of Beer Sheva and the Negev.
We believe that a significant part of our role is educational and social activity for the children of the Negev, and we invest considerable resources in promoting and developing educational programs.
We offer a variety of educational programs designed for kindergarten pupils, elementary school students, and university students, as detailed below:
Experience the Sounds - A Multi-Stage Annual Program
The central theme of the program is Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" or Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker".
The Sinfonietta, in collaboration with the Music Department of the Institute for Integration at Bar-Ilan University, the Ministry of Education, and the Center for Musical Excellence, conducts a multi-stage annual project that deepens familiarity with classical music and the orchestra.
The program includes in-class lessons at school, a concert by a small ensemble in the school auditorium, and a grand concert featuring a musical climax at the end of the year: a full orchestral concert!
The final concert is interactive and involves student participation.
During the concert, the children are exposed to classical music at its best, featuring familiar excerpts from Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" ballet or Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition," led by the conductor alongside an actress-singer.
In Beer Sheva, the multi-stage program for third graders is held with the support of the Azrieli Foundation.
Concerts for Children from Kindergarten to Sixth Grade (Programs within the Sinfonietta subscription)
Programs that introduce children to live music through an experiential and exciting encounter with musicians and their instruments.
The concerts instill universal cultural values, enrich the imagination, and develop cultural consumption habits
The concerts expand and enrich the artistic musical repertoire, providing the children with an enriching, enjoyable, and educational experience.

The "East-West - Interwoven Sounds" program for elementary school students
The program conducted by Maestro Shmuel Elbaz and featuring an ensemble of musicians playing authentic Middle Eastern instruments
The concert is adapted for Hebrew-speaking students and Arabic-speaking students.
In Beer Sheva, the concerts for fifth-grade students are held with the support of the "Adama Makhteshim" company.

The Beer Sheva Municipality through the Beer Sheva Municipal Conservatory
together with the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva are partners in the educational programs at the Center for Musical Excellence and work to promote comprehensive musical education across all age groups in schools and kindergartens.
"Musical Experience" academic course Students enjoy an extraordinary musical experience and academic credits for a degree!
For over 15 years the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva has been holding an academic course, 2 credits, which combines a theoretical lecture and a musical concert in every session.
The course consists of 6 sessions and in each session: a fascinating lecture on the worlds of sound, harmony and the history of the classical music world and a captivating and moving concert with all the orchestra's musicians who will perform the best of familiar classical music.
The course is intended for all students interested in an exciting, different course, that combines interactive learning and pure enjoyment.
The Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva invites you to register for the course and take part in a musical, cultural and social experience that will enrich your inner world.
Thousands of students from Ben-Gurion University, Ariel University in Samaria, Sami Shamoon College, Kaye College and more have had the privilege to experience this one-of-a-kind series in Israel for getting to know the orchestra and music, which combines a cultural experience with academic credits.
