The Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva was founded in 1973 and from then until today (the 53rd season) the orchestra continues to be the leading cultural institution in the musical field throughout the entire southern region.
Starting from the 2025/26 concert season Maestro Constantine Orbelian serves as the musical director of the orchestra.
During the past five decades, the orchestra has consistently and faithfully served the music-loving community in Beer-Sheva and the Negev. Alongside its performances on all concert stages in Israel, the orchestra has broken the boundaries of its surroundings and become a renowned artistic body in Israel and abroad.
The orchestra has diverse concert series in Beer-Sheva and throughout the country, concert series of classical music, light music, Hebrew song, operas, film music and an additional wide range of concerts for early childhood, elementary and high school students and for students at Ben-Gurion University and colleges in the Negev.
The General Director of the orchestra starting from the 52nd season is Yair Nagid.
